However to celebrate my return I thought I'd give you a gift.
I had a lot of time to play some of my video games while I was on 'exam leave' - haha - so here's my top 5 that I think you all will like :3
Sorry some are only PlayStation exclusives as I own only a PlayStation 3 but I do also own the first Xbox (Yeah I know I'm a hipster gal
) so I ain't up for the PlayStation Vs Xbox to me PlayStation's consoles are great and The first Xbox was what helped my gaming love evolve (my gateway to gaming was Sonic Adventure DEMO on dreamcast oh how I wished to progress past emerald coast but many years later I got Sonic Adventure DX and I still love it!)
5. GTA V (2013)
Now I will say this game is grossly over rated, however it still is a fun game and I really enjoyed the story line. Rockstar did not disappoint me as the graphics are just fantastic, driving through the city in my stolen Audi - we all know it is an Audi TT or R8 even if they did change the logo
- I have to say the city of Los Santos looked amazing and at night ugh even better! Now I've never played the other GTA games so I can't compare story lines but watching clips the graphics have improved greatly from GTA 4. However I don't just rate games on graphics, Rockstar did a great job on character development and developing the relationships between all the character even the minor ones had a major effect on the main character's development. Also the game play is great, the lock on shooting suits the fast paced game well as it is well aware it is not a shooter. Only downside is it is not that enjoyable once completed however I've heard the online multiplayer is great however I have not tried that feature because I don't go online. So because it has dropped from £40 (In the UK) to definitely bellow £30 preowned is about £20 I would recommend it if you like open world 3rd person games.
4. Far Cry 3 (2012)
I LOVE this game's concept it's great. I cannot review it well in detail as I haven't fully played well only the opening (I bought it for my Dad for Father's Day and I'm dying to give it to him, but I have to wait 2 weeks! So I can't play it
). I know I'm cheating a bit but it deserves this spot trust me :3 here's why, there are certain characters in it that you will fall in love with especially a guy named Vaas. Vaas is played by Michael Mando I seriously recommend checking him out he is a fantastic actor and his insane character will keep you extremely entertained throughout Far Cry 3. It is a first person shooter so my list is varied
and I honestly thought I'd gotten bored of first person shooters but playing even just the opening of this game has made me realise first person shooters don't have to be Call of Duty etc. It is open world (which I in particularly enjoy) but I have not tried this open world out myself. The only reason I recommend it is that because Far Cry 4 is being developed Far Cry 3 is now very cheap, I got mine for £8
If you own a PlayStation 3 and don't like open world first person shooters I recommend any of the Resistance games.
3. Uncharted Series (2007 -) ~
PlayStation exclusive ~I said series as all the games in the franchise are amazing the stories are very unique and this action packed series is definitely worth the play if you have a PlayStation. The Naughty Dog series is now onto the 4th instalment to the franchise which sadly will be exclusive the PlayStation 4 which I do not own
but Uncharted 4 is most likely to be released in 2015. Uncharted 1, 2 and 3 are great and the graphics have noticeably improved from 1 to 3 and I'm keen to see the Uncharted 4 graphics as they almost had Nathan Drake (the protagonist) looked almost life like in the 3rd one. There is a blend of climbing and shooting throughout all games and frankly I love it. However if you only have a certain amount of money to spend I recommend Uncharted 2, it got 10/10 and is just amazing.
2. Assassins Creed 2 (2009)
/Assassins Creed Brotherhood(2010)
Assassins Creed 2 and Brotherhood follows Ezio the assassin and I've only played these 2 however someone lost my Assassins Creed 2 disk -_- SO not cool so I only remember being addicted to Assassins Creed 2 however I loved brotherhood and I got it preowned for £3 :3 However doing my research it would seem Assassins Creed 2 is longer than Brotherhood, remembering them I would say they both play the same. Personally I enjoy this franchise and I'm keen to play the rest Ubisoft (the creators of Far Cry) made great open world games that are very enjoyable to play even when the story is completed (something in my opinion GTA V lacks) and to me if a game has replayable quality means it is a successful game.
1. The Last Of Us (2013)
~ PlayStation exclusive ~Naughty Dog really pulled off this masterpiece. The original concept of fungal growth growing on human brain that causes humans to become so aggressive that you genuinely want to do all you can to avoid confrontation with them. The amazing thing is that this actually happens in ant colonies and Naughty Dog wondered what if this infection jumped to humans, what would happen. The story revolves around Joel and Ellie and this 3rd person survival game is just amazing at character development and making the player feel connected to the characters. Playing it myself I feel so connected that I don't want anything to happen to the beloved characters so I try hard so much not to die haha. I haven't even mentioned the graphics yet! Honestly they are amazing, everything is so real it just sucks you into the game even more, at one point a tear falls down a characters face and it's so subtle that I was amazed at Naughty Dogs effort in the small details. Now, the gameplay, the gameplay is jut fantastic you can carry a range of weapons in your backpack but only have 1 hand gun and one long gun at the tap of a button so it makes you think what you may need. The rest of your weapons are in your backpack however not on the hot keys so you have to hold a button and scroll through your weapons to change your wanted weapon and I like this a lot because it allows you to carry a lot in a realistic fashion. Also the crafting in this game is fantastically simple, you pick up scraps along your journey, find a bench to work at then upgrade what you can with your scraps. It's hard to explain the gameplay so sorry if some bits are really confusing! The game is apparently going to be adapted into a movie and if they STICK to the the game's storyline I do think they have a lot of potential for a blockbuster.
So that's my Top 5 games a lot of people probably won't agree but we're all entitled to our opinions :3 Comment below what your favourite games are. Do you have any suggestions for me? I'd love to hear them
Oh and tell me, What was your Gateway to gaming? (if you're a gamer)
